Assemblymember Patrick Ahrens (D-Silicon Valley) said: "I stand with United States Senator Alex Padilla and demand President Donald Trump and his administration follow the U.S. Constitution and respect separation of powers. Senator Padilla was assaulted by federal law enforcement while doing his job, representing California, seeking answers to why this increasingly authoritarian federal government has illegally deployed troops into California neighborhoods under false pretenses."
