Good Karma Bikes in San Jose
82 S Montgomery St, San Jose, CA 95110.
Honoring Good Karma Bikes as our June Small Business of the Month—a remarkable business that’s transforming lives, one bike at a time.
Good Karma Bikes was founded in 2009 by Jim Gardner, a PhD physicist with a heart for service. After spending time at St. James Park offering free bicycle repairs for community members, the idea for the shop was created. Today, it’s a volunteer-powered organization giving away over 1,000 bikes annually—helping to prevent homelessness, supporting essential workers, and ensuring students have a reliable way to get to school.
From repairing donated bikes to training volunteers from scratch, their mission is as unique as the one-of-a-kind bikes they restore. Through sales and service, they sustain vital programming and provide financial assistance to those in need.
Thank you, Good Karma Bikes, for putting compassion in motion and building stronger, more connected communities across our region.
