On Dec. 7, 2020, I reintroduced a bill to create California's first Universal Basic Income Program (AB 65) because it’s time for our economy to provide better opportunities for working families. Innovations and technologies created today are already disrupting the workforce, and continued automation will profoundly change the way our state works in the next 30 years. It is my hope that a universal basic income will provide Californians with a stronger level of economic security.
Although this idea is a work in progress, I knew it was important to begin with the fundamentals behind Universal Basic Income. As we continue into the new session, I hope to resume the discussion on a plan that will be best suited for California, and I need your input to move forward. Please complete the survey below to share your ideas/suggestions for a successful Universal Basic Income program.
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. My team will keep you updated as we move forward.
Warm regards,
Evan Low
