Assemblymember Evan Low (D-Silicon Valley) issued the following statement Friday on Governor Gavin Newsom's proposed 2021-22 budget:
"People are suffering and we need to work on their behalf in dealing with the historic challenges outside of the pandemic. California faces larger and more complex issues than almost every other state in the nation: deadly wildfires spurred by climate change; a housing crisis that exacerbates income inequality; and homelessness that is directly linked to housing, addiction, and mental health. The Assembly and Senate must make a renewed commitment to shepherding a full recovery. The governor’s budget blueprint — combined with vaccine rollouts and a new administration at the White House — is the first step in putting these dark days behind us.”
