SACRAMENTO—Assemblymember Evan Low (D-Silicon Valley), introduced an amendment to the state constitution today that would lower the voting age from 18 to 17 in California.

SACRAMENTO—Assemblymember Evan Low (D-Silicon Valley) has re-introduced a bill to make Election Day a holiday in California. Assembly Bill 177 would establish a state holiday on the first Tuesday in November of each statewide or national election year.

SACRAMENTO—Today, the California Legislative Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Caucus unanimously elected Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) to serve as Chair and Assemblymember Todd Gloria (D-San Diego) to serve as Vice Chair.
