Local Leaders Host Senior Scam Stopper Seminar
SAN JOSE — Senator Jim Beall, Assemblymember Evan Low, Councilmember Donald Rocha, and the Contractors State License Board will host a Senior Scam Stopper Seminar on Friday, April 28 at the Camden Community Center to inform residents about common scams targeting seniors as well as provide tips to avoid fraud. The seminar will cover scams ranging from home and auto repair to insurance fraud.

Election Day Holiday Proposal Passes Key Committee
SACRAMENTO—Assemblymember Evan Low (D-Silicon Valley) announced that his proposal to create an Election Day Holiday was approved by the Assembly Elections and Redistricting Committee today. Assembly Bill 674 would establish a state holiday on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November to coincide with every statewide general election.
Assembly Speaker, LGBT Caucus Chair Call New North Carolina Law Inadequate, Say California Must Maintain its Travel Ban
SACRAMENTO — Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Paramount) and Assemblymember Evan Low (D-Silicon Valley), chair of the California Legislative LGBT Caucus, strongly condemned North Carolina’s move to repeal only select aspects of HB 2, that state’s law to discriminate against transgender people in public restroom access.
Statement Regarding UCLA’s travel to Tennessee NCAA Game
SACRAMENTO- Assemblymember Evan Low (D-Silicon Valley) issued the following statement regarding the UCLA men’s basketball team’s decision to travel to Tennessee for the NCAA championship. Some reports have incorrectly assumed that the travel violated Assembly Bill 1887, which bans state-sponsored travel to states with anti-LGBT laws.
